It’s not polite to read someone else’s diary...especially when it’s the “Diary of a Madman” like Cornelius Stirk, who’s out to tear the Batman’s mind apart.

Cornelius Stirk lures a police officer to his hide out, where Batman is waiting. However through use of his hypnotic powers Stirk is able to convince Batman that the policeman is the killer. While Batman is engaged with the officer Stirk is able to capture Batman... and find out what The Batman is afraid of.
